- The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and detained Habeeb Hamzat (20), popularly known as Peller, over a viral video showing reckless driving that led to a serious road accident.
- The incident occurred on 14th December 2025 and was live-streamed on social media, endangering the suspect and other road users.
- Police described the act as a deliberate attempt to commit suicide and a serious threat to public safety.
- The case is currently under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
- Police confirmed that the suspect will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
- The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, issued a strong warning to social media influencers and content creators against promoting reckless or unlawful acts online.
- The Command reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing traffic laws and maintaining peace and safety across Lagos State.
