- CAF disciplinary action:
CAF sanctioned Senegal, Morocco, and several players and officials for breaches of discipline during the AFCON 2025 final, citing violations of fair play, integrity, and conduct rules.
- Sanctions against Senegal:
Head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw was suspended for five CAF matches and fined USD 100,000 for unsporting conduct.
Players Iliman Cheikh Baroy Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr each received two-match suspensions for unsporting behaviour towards the referee.
- The Senegalese FA (FSF) was fined USD 615,000 in total:
USD 300,000 for improper conduct of supporters
USD 300,000 for unsporting conduct of players and technical staff
USD 15,000 for team misconduct due to multiple cautions
- Sanctions against Morocco:
Achraf Hakimi was suspended for two CAF matches, with one match suspended for one year.
Ismaël Saibari received a three-match suspension and a USD 100,000 fine.
- The Moroccan FA (FRMF) was fined:
USD 200,000 for inappropriate behaviour of ball boys
USD 100,000 for players and staff invading the VAR area and obstructing officials
USD 15,000 for supporters’ use of lasers during the match
Morocco’s protest rejected:
CAF dismissed a protest filed by Morocco alleging regulatory violations by Senegal, finding no breach of AFCON regulations.

CAF said the sanctions reinforce its commitment to discipline, respect for match officials, and the integrity of African football competitions.
